Expression

        Expression
Come out from your hiding place,
Ye little light of mine,
Showcase yourself for it's right about time,
Express in magnificent splendor,
Because the world awaits.

Many are the famous of the day,
Many are the talented of the hour,
Many are the celebrated of the minute,
Many are the renowned of the second,
They all lack in depth insight,
So they fade away.

For what is the glory of the sun, if it can't illuminate,
Or of what use is a lady bird if she doesn't express good tidings,
You've been emancipated from internal slavery,
So what are you waiting for?

From the realm of the metaphysical,
You have been given enablement,
Far beyond your imagination,
Your time is now.

Express with the majesty of His grace,
Because you're made locally to be enjoyed globally.

Salt of the earth

 Salt Of The Earth
Salt of the earth,
Whenceforth life springs and doesn't cut asunder,
If it weren't for the brine!
Who would i have been?

Light of the world,
You illuminate the darkest paths,
If it weren't for your expressions;
Would I be spectacular?

Flavor of the universe,
Thou hast nurtured me with so much affections,
If it weren't for your tenderness,
Would 'em butterflies ever come alive?

Fluffy and flossy is what i remember of your ebony bosom,
Where I take solace whenever my heart aches,
While you reciprocate with a blossoming smile,
If it weren't for your graciousness,
Would life be meaningful?

Imagine the world without women,
Howbeit, it's going to be a boring and stereotyped one,
For the women are the salt of the earth.

Salt of the earth,
You're God's greatest gift to mankind.

Ibadan

Ibadan
Hail " Ẹ̀bá-Ọ̀dàn the city at the edge of the savannah,
The city drained by four rivers with many tributaries,
The city of the mighty, courageous and heroic,
The citadel and fortress of valour.

Salute ibadan Oluyole city,  for out of your loins have you brought forth men of timber and caliber,
Pay homage to  " ilu Ogunmola", because your place can't be put aside when writing the history of yoruba,
Pay tribute to "Eba-dan", because roundabout you, flows rivers with milk and honey.

Whoever says ibadan has no history, let he/she visit the "Olubadan's palace,
Whoever says ibadan has no antiquity he/she hasn't heard of " Basorun Ogunmola",
Whoever says ibadan has no oral tradition he/she should enquire about the legend of "Lagelu",
Whoever says ibadan has no time line he/she hasn't read the chronicles & epistle of "Kurumi of ijaye and Basorun Ogunmola".

Long may you live ibadan, city of peace,
We know how mouthed you're and your inhabitants,
We know how fashionable you're and your inhabitants,
We know how God fearing you're and your inhabitants.

Even though  I'm not from ibadan, am proud to associate myself with you,
For I am Ibadan.

cos I'm still waiting

Cos I am still waiting
Even through the times of melancholy, I was waiting,
When we thought no more hope was available, i was waiting,
When there was various secession,  I was waiting,
When they came up with various promises & policies I was waiting.

Waking early for the morning radio news, I was waiting,
Or glueing my eyes to the television for the mid-afternoon news, I was waiting,
Sitting in my balcony enjoying the evening breeze scrabbling aggressively on the newspaper, I was waiting.

They promised change,  I am still waiting,
They promised transformation, I am still waiting,
They said no more corruption, am still waiting,
They say it is for,  by & of the people,  I am still waiting.

They go about  visiting court rooms and tribunals,  forgetting am still waiting,
They wallow in party crusade, fighting for superiority,  forgetting am still waiting,
They clamour that change their blue print is only its way, forgetting am still waiting.

Waiting for what?
Waiting for the time Nigeria will change.
